Doha, Qatar - This year, the largest collegiate fraternity in the United States and in the Philippines celebrates its 91st founding anniversary. The fraternity was founded on December 16, 1925, at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania by Dr. Frank Reed Horton, whose view was to make “Alpha Phi Omega an organization for college men who cooperated with all youth movements, especially scouting.” By 1950, the organization continued to foster leadership, friendship and service, and remains true to the basic principles of scouting upon which it was founded. Since then, the group attracted thousands of Filipino college men and women, many of which went on to become notable leaders, public servants in the United States and in the Philippines including thousands of professional alumni in the Middle East.
